Wow, I have not posted on this blog since 2008. Since discovering Facebook, I have kinda been out of the Blogging Mode. Well, since I am embarking on a new challenge, I felt that blogging would be the easiest and most effective way for me to journalize my current challenge. That is to turn flab into firm! Now, some of you may look at me and think I am thin. I am not saying that I am overweight....but I am squishy! My goal is to eat healthier, firm up the flab, go down a size of clothing, and lose a few pounds along the way. Today is March 1st, 2010. No better time to get started than the present. Here is what I am going to do along the way:
- Journal my daily food intake. If it crosses my lips, it needs to get written down!
- Exercise daily! I am going to use the 30-Day Shred for strength training; daily cardio at Emporia Fitness; and the Walk Kansas challenge to keep me motivated. I am NOT gonna be a beer wench at the lake this summer!
- Work on my running endurance, as I want to run a 5k this summer.
- Blog my efforts daily! This will keep me accountable not only to myself, but to the lurkers out there who decide to creep into my blog and ready my daily posts.
I am staring out at 5'3" and 142 pounds. My BMI is 25.2 which is technically overweight. Granted, it is the low end, but still....overweight is really not how I characterize myself.
Today, I woke up a little before 5 a.m. and headed to the gym. I was on the treadmill for 45 minutes, and did interval running. After work, I am headed to buy a measuring tape so I can take proper measurements of my body. Then, I will pop in 30-Day Shred and get started with strength. I plan on posting again tonight.
Happy Monday! Let the challenge begin!
